Andriy Shevchenko has given his piece of advice

Former Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko has given his piece of advice to struggling Real Madrid star Gareth Bale. Shevchenko, himself, struggled a lot to deal with the pressure of a massive transfer fee when he moved to Chelsea from AC Milan.

He caused around £ 30 million and was one of the most expensive transfers in English football back then. Bale has cost considerably more at £ 85 million and he had been expected to deliver for this reason. After a spectacular first season at the Santiago Bernebeu when he won the Champions League and the Copa del Rey, Bale has been struggling to impart any form of superiority in recent months.

Shevchenko retired from football in 2012 and he is no stranger to have experienced the highs and lows in football. Regarded as one of the best strikers in the world during his time at Milan, Shevchenko moved to Chelsea and the lost his touch almost entirely. He never recovered his form and eventually retired while playing for Milan. The Ukrainian forward says that there is little doubt Bale is a quality player, but he needs to get his focus on the game in order to start delivering results. Bale was guilty of missing several chances in the two leg Champions League match against Juventus.

"I think he just has to be quiet and find his best form.He is a great player and if he decides to stay there, if he loves Real Madrid, then he should be quiet and focusing on his game. It's all about him, what he wants to do; if he decides to move it's all his decision,” said Shevchenko. Despite speculation about a return to England, manager Carlo Ancelotti has been staying calm about Bale. However, Ancelotti’s own future is under doubt after Champions League elimination at the semi-final stage.
